Patrizi's offers an eclectic dining atmosphere in Austin, combining vibrant outdoor seating with a cozy, inviting vibe. While some dishes like the roasted beets and garlic bread receive high praise, others, such as certain pasta options, may leave diners feeling underwhelmed due to dryness and unbalanced flavors. Service remains a highlight, with friendly staff providing a personalized touch. Despite some inconsistencies, fans of fresh, authentic Italian cuisine may find the experience worthwhile, making it a charming stop for those craving pasta amidst their taco explorations. Overall, it’s an experience mixed with delightful moments and areas for improvement.
I had the garlic bread and the gold Leopold with chicken. The pasta and chicken were delicious and flavorful. The garlic bread was also really good! I do feel like the prices are high for the portion given that this is a food truck and not a full-service restaurant. Overall, my experience was pretty solid and I enjoyed the food. Also, the food truck is located in a pretty nice spot and has pretty good parking options.
THE BIG: Located in The Vortex co op off of Manor Rd. Completely outside dining area with order as you go. Parking lot available but fills up quickly. No reservations needed. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I have been wanting to come to Patrizi's for a while and we finally did the deed. TL;DR it did not disappoint. Menu option is quite small which is easier to make a decision. We just had tacos beforehand so we weren't feeling too hungry so we opted to get the pomodoro (tomato sauce pasta. The fettuccine was perfectly al dente and the sauce w/ ricotta complimented so nicely. They had a guy come around sharing the deets about the specials for the day. There's also a $55 special where you get to try a few apps, 3 half plate pastas, and a dessert which is a steal. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done for a pomodoro was $16. Great price, great Italian food, and great ambiance. We will be back again very soon :
An OG that didn't live up to the hype sadly. Stopped by while visiting Austin because of the rave reviews and honestly all the dishes were just fine. The flavors weren't anything to write home about, not matching our expectations or the price we paid for them. The cat chilling on the couch was my favorite part of the meal if that tells you anything. I will say that the location is pretty cool. Tons of outdoor seating with some additional indoor seating if sitting in the Texas heat isn't your thing. The people were super nice too, explaining the menu and giving us a nice intro to the space. But what is a restaurant if everything except the food stands out? I wanted to love it but I just couldn't. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that they were just having a bad day.
Good food, great local Austin atmosphere, not many places like this left. I 'd only say 4 stars on did because I ordered the exact same dish that was on food networks the best thing I ever ate and it 's not the best pasta in Austin by a long shot. It 'sstill very good and for the price it 's near the top, but not the top.
