Parkside
Description
Parkside restaurant has received a mix of reviews from recent patrons. While some enjoyed the ambience and quality of food, others were disappointed by the service and menu options. The prime angus beef steak was a highlight for many, cooked perfectly to order. However, some found the salmon to be dry and the burger to be overdone. The cocktails received mixed reviews, with some finding them bland and lacking complexity. The crab fritters and steak tartare were popular choices among diners, while others felt that the menu was limited and overpriced. Overall, Parkside offers a nice setting for happy hour and dinner, with standout dishes like the ribeye and crab fritters. The restaurant also hosted special events like a chef-inspired Valentine's dinner, which received positive feedback. Despite some inconsistencies, Tara's exceptional service helped make a dining experience unforgettable for one group of colleagues. In conclusion, Parkside offers a mix of both positive and negative experiences, with highlights including delicious steak and crab fritters, while some diners found the food and service to be underwhelming.

Tonight was our first opportunity to dine with colleagues from around the country since the pandemic started. Tara expertly guided us through the menu and wine selection, making our evening a memorable and enjoyable reunion. Thank you, Parkside!
We had an amazing Valentine's dinner, curated by the chef, which featured a delightful four-course meal. The menu included grilled octopus, a winter salad, grilled scallops, and a delicious strawberry mousse. The bartender crafted some fantastic cocktails—one with pear and another with strawberry. The ambiance was lovely, making it a perfect spot for a meal.
I recently visited Parkside and, as someone who works in the food industry, I had high expectations for my experience. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet those expectations. The server forgot my drink order not once, but twice. While he did bring drinks for everyone else at the table, mine was overlooked—this was the first disappointment. When he returned, he let us know that 3 out of the 5 items on the menu were unavailable. While this wasn’t the end of the world, it was still disappointing. The real issue arose when he checked back and, noticing I still didn’t have a drink, asked if we wanted the bill instead of bringing my drink. Meanwhile, everyone else was enjoying their drinks while I was left feeling unsatisfied. The server, who seemed to be of Indian descent with some cool hair, appeared a bit scattered. Overall, I cannot recommend this place. Parkside really needs to improve their service and menu—this is Austin, not Beverly Hills!
Upon my arrival, the same host remained unfriendly and showed little willingness to help. The silver lining of this experience was our wonderful server, who was incredibly kind and provided excellent service. He truly rescued the evening and prevented this from being a one-star review. Perhaps he could give the host some tips on improving their attitude!
The menu is quite intriguing! I tried the grilled Caesar salad, and it was excellent. The strawberry sunrise drink was also very enjoyable. I'm definitely looking forward to returning with a bigger appetite. The ambiance is pleasant, enhanced by music playing from the loudspeakers.
