My first time after years of wanting to try it, and it did not disappoint. Outstanding service, a quirky, authentically Austin setting and fantastic food and drinks. Parking: Parking is challenging.
Best quail I've ever had!! And such a comfy atmosphere with personable servers and pro kitchen staff. They really bring out the most interesting flavor combinations too. Love this place.
Great experience overall! The blackened redfish and stuffed quail were excellent, and the sourdough ice cream was a highlight. The chicken heart skewers were tasty. Great cocktails too. Worth a visit!
We came in for a quick bite without knowing that they were about to close. Pulled up to the valet and the gentleman went in to check for a table with the host without us asking. They were about to accommodate us at the bar seating. The bartender was great, recommended some good wines for my husband. Had good conversations, food quality was really good. Portions are more tapa style (would recommend doing 3-4 dishes for 2 people).
I always heard good things about this restaurant so I was excited when my friend whose visiting out of state told me he made a reservation at Odd Duck for dinner. Food portion was small but it tasted good. Drinks were okay. Watermelon Fresca was salty to the point it felt like a watermelon juice with salt in it. The worst part was the SERVICE. Every staff at the restaurant was great EXCEPT our waiter. He was very rude starting from beginning. He was explaining about the food and he had a long pause so I thought he stopped talking. That’s when I asked him if I could order a drink and he told me “I’m not done yet” with the most rude voice ever. After that when we tried ordering our food I didn’t know how to read the pasta name so I asked him how do I read this and he said “PASTA would be fine”. He was exceptionally rude to me ONLY to the point I felt like it’s because I was a minority race. Due to this, I won’t be going back. I don’t think I should feel this way after spending my money on mediocre drinks and trash customer service.
