While the food and drinks are creative and delicious, the service can be hit-or-miss, with some customers experiencing exceptional service while others are disappointed. The menu offers a limited selection of vegetarian options, but the food is described as amazing overall. The restaurant can get quite busy and loud, but the unique and delicious experience makes it worth visiting. The kitchen is open, allowing diners to watch their food being prepared. Odd Duck is highly recommended for those looking for a fantastic dining experience in Austin.
Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow. I went to Odd Duck with high expectations after I repeatedly heard that it was the best restaurant in Austin and it was not disappointed! First, I need to talk about the staff. The amazing server we had (Joe) was so passionate about his work and what he served. He told us he was working at Odd Duck because he was eating there, and like, I want to serve it. We would ask him for recommendations and he would not be able to give us a precursor because everything was delicious. He wasn't wrong. Every person we interacted with was so funny and you could say that they enjoyed working there. We have heard from many employees that they are like a family there and that is obvious. Okay, the food. YUM! Just YUM. You should have orders. We ordered so much and stuffed completely because we just didn't want to stop trying everything. The desserts we had was something to be bloated, and I have to give the wonderful bartender a special cry that asked my husband to drink a super spicy drink. She nailed it and was so funny. Believe the hype and make your way to Odd Duck. You'll love every second!
Came to Odd Duck for my birthday and it was a very tasty dinner and a nice location to celebrate. It was pretty crowded, but with a reservation we sat fast. Some tables had a view of downtown, but not ours. The menu came with a personalized stamp and we were given suggestions. We came with cornbread, peppers, juniper and burgers along with some drinks and desserts. Ends up a delicious (and free! Dessert for my birthday. Sweet place! Great for a special occasion.
One of the best meals I had in a long time. our server, Joe, was like the most beautiful person who ever works for a course restaurant. I have to admit, we thought we were going to the Lucky Duck and were pleasantly surprised. absolutely my go here if you can — it is phenomenal. we had the best food during Austin. Good job, guys! You nailed it.
Four of us came to dinner and this place lives to call. We had a smorgasbord of delicious farms to place items that were executed perfectly. The Wagyu sirloin escape was very good. I also appreciate the ways to change menu items to the vegan in our group. Add the place in service and you have an absolute smash from a place. Reservation recommended
First and foremost, if you go, make a reservation. Also, they have valet. I have been here several times and it never disappoints! The food is locally sourced and the menu is determined by what items they receive. I also love that the menu is seasonal and never boring. If you're gluten-free, they have a menu to accommodate most of their items on the main menu. Staff is always friendly and helpful. If you're not sure what to order, ask them; they have great recommendations and many are excited about what they serve. Everything is served on its own plate and can be shared or individual. Portions are a good size and it's safe to say that 2 plates per person is an accurate portion for a meal; 3 if one of them is a lighter dish or dessert. They also have a variety of unique drinks/cocktails and a decent selection of wines, beer, and even cider. This place has been around for years and they are truly worth the visit.
