Living nearby, I decided to revisit the area... read more In December 2023, Menchaca Road is undergoing a transformation with popular Austin hangouts opening new locations. Living nearby, I decided to revisit the area starting with Moontower Saloon. I brought my wife for lunch and was impressed by the Texas country vibe - gravel parking lot, rustic bar, outdoor seating under live oak trees, small stage, fire pit, food trucks, and even sand volleyball courts. The atmosphere was wonderful. We ordered food from Hot Texas Grills food truck while Fried Heaven was closed. As I waited for my Buffalo Chicken Quesadilla, I grabbed a local beer from the friendly bartender inside the bar. The place had a dive bar feel with old wood and a collection of stickers. We enjoyed our meal on the deck overlooking the volleyball courts, which were busy. It was a relaxing and dog-friendly atmosphere to enjoy beer and food.

The drinks were deli... read more Wanted a fun place to bring the dogs and this was the spot! Made so many new friends and my dogs got lots of pets from workers and patrons. The drinks were delicious and pricing wasn't too bad. Food from the BBQ food trucks was delicious and made very quickly. I would definitely be coming back here very soon! Back a few weeks later and like it still!
