I was unable to taste the sauce and definitely didn't feel any heat even though I ordered it spicy. The mango sticky rice was surprisingly good, but not even close to being good enough to make up for the lackluster pad Thai. I would be a fool to consider ever spending money on this again.

Beautiful bar and plenty of indoor... read more THE BIG: Located in the Lamar Union Plaza shopping mall, right across the street from Alamo Drafthouse and Gibson Street Bar. Beautiful bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Garage parking is available.THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here after paddleboarding and in need of some good thai food. We got the pad thai with chicken and the red curry with chicken. In both dishes the chicken was dry. However it tasted really good. Portion sizes were generous albeit the prices were higher than a normal thai restaurant.Ambiance is great, we were seated immediately and I can see the place bumping in the night hours. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall damage done was $40 for two entrees. Would definitely recommend and choose a different protein next time.

Mini rice pancakes are one of the best things I’ve eaten in Austin in 14 years. Vietnamese Espresso Martini is amazing.Food: 5/5

Lamar, Mandala Kitchen and Bar is a great place for your this food fix! My husband and I came on a Saturday afternoon, around 5pm, and were seated immediately. There were a few larger parties at the restaurant as well. Service was quick and cordial. We ordered the pad Thai and the red curry with chicken. The chicken was over cooked and dry in my opinion. The flavors of the pad Thai and red curry was OUT OF THIS WORLD good. The red curry also has a bit of a kick. Absolutely delicious!Overall, I would dine here again, but maybe with tofu or shrimp as my protein!

OH MY GAWD! This right here. This right chere! M-A-N-D-A-L-A. I have had my fair share of food being 51 years young and maintaining this 299 lb boyish physique. But when I experienced this entree two things came to mind and palate. First. That I have been lied to by other restaurants claiming to be the best when at best they were average. Second. That I have cheated my palate and my wallet from more bang for my bite and dollar. Back to the CFR, the pic included is proof enough that this entree is so ON POINT! How they perfected the right amount of spice to awaken your senses at 10p but not too much where you're offended and can't taste anything. To not eat here is doing yourself a huge disservice. Mandala Kitchen should do a wok drop and walk away now
