Launderette in Austin stands out as a vibrant dining destination, offering a charming atmosphere and a thoughtfully crafted menu. While the dinner experience consistently impresses with dishes like the tender pork ribs and flavorful fried shrimp, brunch leaves much to be desired, with several items lacking in flavor and presentation. Although the drinks are well-received, service can feel disjointed with staff appearing tense and the lack of personalized interaction. Overall, while Launderette excels in quality and creativity, varying experiences may affect repeat visits, making it a spot worth trying for a romantic night out.
Launderette in Austin provides a wonderful dining experience. The fried shrimp was delightfully crispy, and the branzino was cooked to perfection, highlighting the chef's expertise. However, the real standout was the pork ribs, elevated by a spicy sambal that truly made the dish shine. The meat was tender and fell off the bone effortlessly, with the sambal adding just the right amount of heat. While the food was outstanding, I did encounter a small disappointment during my visit. Since I was celebrating my girlfriend's birthday, I had hoped for a special dessert to mark the occasion. Even though I had mentioned the celebration to the staff, there were no extra touches to make it feel special. It’s a minor issue, but it prevented Launderette from receiving a perfect five-star rating. Still, the restaurant’s impressive food offerings make it a must-visit spot for any food enthusiast in Austin.
We went to this restaurant with high hopes, but unfortunately, our experience left us unhappy. The host was quite unwelcoming right from the start, which set a negative tone for our visit. The menu looked promising, but we ended up ordering the pork hash, which turned out to be just two slimy eggs and some leftover bits of pork. My wife tried the famous salmon, but it didn’t agree with her, and she's now dealing with an upset stomach. Everything felt pre-packaged, including the so-called gourmet cinnamon roll, which was just covered in apple jam from Randall's. We regret choosing this place for our meal. Two plates and the cinnamon roll with water cost us $60, and I feel it was a complete waste of money. We're very disappointed and won't be returning.
Great spot! It was my first visit, and though it was a bit pricey, I enjoyed my experience.
The dinner was fantastic, as it always is. I'm so excited that they have returned my favorite dish, the Pei Mussels, to the menu. You really can't go wrong with dessert either. While the Birthday Cake Ice Cream sandwich is my go-to, this time I decided to try the Coffee Mousse Tart, and it was just as delightful. Both desserts were perfectly balanced and not too sweet.
This restaurant deserves more than five stars. I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive about the menu when my son suggested we meet here. However, I quickly realized that ordering a variety of dishes to share is the best way to go. For the four of us, we selected hummus, carrots, Brussels sprouts, ribs, and chicken. The last three were outstanding, especially the Brussels sprouts—they might be the best I’ve ever tasted! Be sure to leave some space for dessert; we ordered four to share, and each one was fantastic. The service was also impressive. It's rare for my expectations to be exceeded like they were here. Be sure to add this restaurant to your must-visit list!
