Feedback
Jeffrey's offers a mixed experience, with some diners enjoying the exquisite beef tartare and outstanding ribeye, while others found disappointment in the fatty ribeye and mediocre sides. Despite some inconsistencies, the service is top-notch with knowledgeable and friendly staff. The ambiance is praised for its intimate and quiet setting. Popovers with ricotta and crunchy toppings are a hit, but the lobster bisque may not be worth the price. Overall, Jeffrey's offers a fine dining experience with varied opinions on food quality but consistent 5-star service.
Have always lived there food especially their desserts and teas. The Chocolate Crunch Tea and Chocolate Intemperance are top favorites and part of highlights to any friend new to Austin every time now. Have lived the recessed mood lighting through and through and will say if you are new to Austin or not a fan of steaks and/or desserts this place might change your mind.
Probably the best meal I've ever had in my life. Service was exceptional and the meal was high quality and prepared perfectly.
Arrived with extraordinary expectations based on reputation. Left less than overwhelmed. Service was really the miss. We watched two tables sat after us taken care of before our server ever came to our table. Once she did, it wasn't much better. Wine was opened away from the table, and I was never given opportunity to validate it until it was decanted for 20 minutes and served with dinner. My wife's cocktail was removed before she finished it without any inquiry of being done. I wound up pouring my own wine twice. Nuf said. Really good, overall. Not great.
Cocktails and wine were excellent. We had truffled deviled eggs, croquettes, creamed spinach gratin, all were excellent. The dover sole Veronique had a funny taste, didn’t like it. For dessert we had a floating island: very interesting mix of flavors!
What a wonderful place for a long, relax dinner where conversation flows freely. I thought Jeffrey’s was going to be overly pretentious, old school, or classic American. I was wrong. Impeccable attentive service and ambiance, menu is a good mix ofinventive plates and more classic steak house options. It’s not cheap, but 100% it’s a great place for an intimatecelebration.
