Description

Set on the lake in the Walter Creek Boathouse, Alta’s Café is a breezy, bike-trail favorite offering well-steamed coffee, iced drinks, mimosas and small plates on a sunny deck. Patrons praise scenic views, attentive staff for special events and reliable lattes, though experiences vary: bagels and microwaved snacks sometimes lack freshness, restrooms and outdoor areas need maintenance, and service can be inconsistent. Ideal for cyclists, couples and casual waterfront stops, it’s worth a visit for the view — but expect mixed service and limited indoor comforts.

Love this place. I spend hours coloring outside;sitting at a table while drinking a glass of proseco wine. View overlooking the lake is nice! Ask for Sam (owner) or Alondra (employee)

NOT WORTHY AT ALL!!!They only have bagel dogs that are old and frozen. They warm them in the microwave to make it even worse, and you have to pay $10 each. This place could’ve been better. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Lovely little coffee shop in the boathouse, along the trail. Attractive outdoor seating. Friendly service. Reasonable prices given quality/location. Coffee was pretty good, and the disposable cup was high quality.

Dirty outdoor space, staff was not friendly, terrible atmosphere, coffee was third rate. The young girl Kenzie was very rude and ugly to me on my last visit. Having a location on the lake is great, and that doesn’t preclude y’all from providing good service. I think that you might want to consider going in a different direction. 1/10 would not step foot in that place again. Step it up. Parking: You can’t even find this place from gps

Great location with a large porch with views of Town Lake (Ladybird Lake). Good place for people watch especially on weekends with all the activity from the Rowing club below the coffee shop. The coffee is fine and the food options are minimal. The draw here is the porch and the view.
