Description

Paws, the hotel restaurant at the Bertram Inn in Aurora, serves notable steaks, sushi and popular happy-hour bites in a relaxed, often-quiet setting favored by locals and hotel guests. Food quality can be strong—standouts include ribeye, seafood and cocktails—yet recent menu and kitchen changes have produced uneven dishes. Service is a frequent pain point: slow, inattentive, and occasionally unreachable by phone. Prices feel high for some offerings, but portion sizes and select favorites keep many returning for casual dinners and hotel dining.

Somewhat disappointing. 18 years ago we were married at this facility, so obviously I want to continue loving all aspects of it. The food is still great, the service is lacking. A server glued to her phone, another asked if we needed anything, we replied that we were ready for the check and still waited over 15 minutes for yet a third waiter to ask as we were putting on our coats, if we were ready for the check. I truly thought our request of to go boxes, and subsequent packing of our food signaled that we were done. I definitely thought that the initial request for our check would be honored. I would sadly choose elsewhere for a service oriented experience.

Usually quiet. Food is good-not gourmet but a place you can have a nice dinner without rushing. Not a large menu but ribs are excellent and portions are large. We will be back.

Nice hotel bar. It includes a few locals that hang out most nights it is open. Food was as you expected. And they do have happy hour specials.Service was great! Very friendly and answer questions about the area.

I was staying at the Bertram inn and tried calling down to place an order for pickup. No answer from the restaurant twice. So I went down in person and was able to place an order with a server. I then sat and waited at the sushi bar for 30 minutes before finally asking where my food was and being told that it was ready and given to me. It wasn't busy by any means, I'm pretty sure they just forgot about me.I get back up to the room with my food and open it up only to find out that they completely forgot my son's hot dog order. So back down to the restaurant I go and I have to wait another 10 minutes for the hot dog. Finally, when we are all sitting down and eating the food, my wife and I both tried the spaghetti squash entree and it tasted like we were eating solidified white wine. I'm pretty sure it was supposed to have a white wine glaze on it or something like that, but this literally tasted like they just steeped the spaghetti squash in white wine and put it in our to-go box.The salmon was meh, the brussel sprouts were decent, the tempura asparagus was decent, and the hot dog was probably the best item that was ordered. The fries that came with the hot dog were bland and unseasoned.Even if you're in a bind while staying at that hotel, I would rather get snacks from the front desk than eat at that restaurant again.
