Paws - Aurora
Paws
Description
Paws, the hotel restaurant at the Bertram Inn in Aurora, serves notable steaks, sushi and popular happy-hour bites in a relaxed, often-quiet setting favored by locals and hotel guests. Food quality can be strong—standouts include ribeye, seafood and cocktails—yet recent menu and kitchen changes have produced uneven dishes. Service is a frequent pain point: slow, inattentive, and occasionally unreachable by phone. Prices feel high for some offerings, but portion sizes and select favorites keep many returning for casual dinners and hotel dining.

The food here is excellent! They have fantastic happy hour specials on appetizers and sushi. Overall, it's a wonderful experience with great food, attentive service, and great value. I really enjoy the shrimp tacos, crab beignets, and short rib quesadilla!
Shayla was our server, and she was both quick and efficient while also being friendly. She took the time to listen to our requests, unlike the other server who seemed to rush around. Shayla truly made our dining experience memorable. Thank you, Shayla!
Somewhat disappointing. 18 years ago we were married at this facility, so obviously I want to continue loving all aspects of it. The food is still great, the service is lacking. A server glued to her phone, another asked if we needed anything, we replied that we were ready for the check and still waited over 15 minutes for yet a third waiter to ask as we were putting on our coats, if we were ready for the check. I truly thought our request of to go boxes, and subsequent packing of our food signaled that we were done. I definitely thought that the initial request for our check would be honored. I would sadly choose elsewhere for a service oriented experience.
Ken prepares some of the finest sushi I've ever tasted. It's incredibly delicious, fresh, and crafted by a true professional.
