Superb place. This is my second time eating here, and the welcome is just as warm as ever, the food is delicious, and they use local suppliers! Go without hesitation!
The first thing to note is that this place is tiny (only 24 seats and so you must absolutely reserve in advance or you won't get in. It was fully booked both days we were in the city, and with good reason. We were just extremely lucky that the guy let us take an outside table (off season and in the rain no less!! But several others were turned away. The food was excellent. We started with the oeufs cocotte and the flavours were wonderful. The salad was good. We then both went with the half magret and while I had mine without the sauce (allergic to truffle I am reliably informed that it was delicious. The magret was perfectly cooked pink throughout and even. The potatoes were excellent too. For dessert we both had the croustade, which was spectacular, from the pastry itself to the ice cream, which was fabulous. The guy knew the wines well and recommended to us this bottle from a local chateau, and honestly it turned out to be one of the lasting treasures of our trip we liked it so much we bought several other wines from this chateau in the local stores, and every single one we've tried since returning home has been fantastic. Definitely recommend. When we finished our desserts, a coffee magically appeared for my friend and we still don't know how they knew he wanted one and I didn't!! Magic. It's the only explanation lol. In any event, would heartily recommend this restaurant and make sure you book in advance!!
