My husband and I went to this restaurant for Valentine's Day. I am mostly vegan, while he eats everything. We ordered the vegan poutine and the Escobar pizza. They were both brought to our table within 10 minutes of ordering. The beer selection was great, and the atmosphere was cool and inviting. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. I especially loved the poutine. The pizza was good, not amazing, but I was happy to have a pizza with vegan cheese and mock meats already on it. We will definitely be returning!
I really enjoy this bar for its atmosphere, but the vegan options are just average. I wouldn't recommend coming here for a full meal, but it's a great spot to enjoy some snacks while enjoying excellent beer.
Is this the best taproom for vegans in the city? It very well could be. Vegan options are clearly labeled and include 2 appetizers, 2 sides, and 2 entrees. We weren't too hungry so we tried the amazing tofu appetizer and the bok choy side. Both dishes were incredibly tasty. Even my non-vegan dad was impressed with the tofu, which was fried perfectly instead of being deep fried and dried out like at other restaurants in Atlanta. We will definitely be returning to sample the vegan pizza and vegan cold cut sandwich!
Stopped in here for dinner during the week. Really cool look inside and out. Beer menu has a ton of options, including a triple IPA The hot chicken sandwich was the real winner of the night. Not too hot at all, but full of spices and flavor. We also had the Lil Debbie dessert, which turned out to be the perfect southern comfort dessert we were craving . Overall place appeared very clean, food was delicious and staff attentive and helpful.
My friends had enjoyed the meatloaf on their previous visit, but on this visit, we enjoyed burgers and fries, served with a pickle slice Had we been rich, we would have ordered grouper $30). The restaurant, a former A&P grocery store back in the 1950s, and later a colorful flea market, has been beautifully finished out with interesting architectural details and artwork. There was an open-air area for dining located inside the front entry door), then there were several different levels for dining inside the restaurant. We saw a person throwing pizza dough to make pizzas and resolved to try that next time. We appreciated Argosy's policy of serving only vaccinated people. Our server was excellent, the food was good, the setting was lovely, and we appreciated the free, easy parking. Along with street parking, there is also a big parking lot beside the building. The Argosy is definitely worth a visit when you are in the East Atlanta/Little Five Points/Grant Park area. You will enjoy the ambiance AND the food.
