**Dining Experience at a Local Vietnamese Restaurant** Nestled in a spacious but somewhat outdated venue, this Vietnamese restaurant offers a varied menu that appeals to both adventurous eaters and those seeking comfort food. While the service can be hit or miss—ranging from quick deliveries to slow acknowledgment—the dishes largely impress. Guests have praised bowls of flavorful pho and well-prepared vermicelli, though some items like the fried rice and grilled pork may fall short of freshness. While the atmosphere lacks modern charm, the courteous staff and reasonable prices make it a worthy destination for a casual meal. Expect a satisfying taste of Vietnam.
Feedback
Was Lene Hviid at Pho 24 a mag?
The waiter was very nice and funny. They don't serve alcohol here, but they let me take my own beer from next door. The broth was very good. The vegetables could have been a little fresher. They did not give us the typical chili paste, only Sriracha and fish sauce. They had enough meat in the pho, but they needed a few more noodles. I think we're going back here. View all feedback.
Good Vietnamese food We ordered the grilled pork and egg/spring roll noodle salad and a Pho Tai (rare beef noodle soup). They were both delicious with fresh, fragrant herbs and flavours. I didn't like how they automatically included a gratuity when you paid your bill, but the service was fast and we thought that the prices were quite reasonable given the downtown location.
I found the Vermicelli bowl to be well-balanced, with the shrimp and chicken cooked to perfection and full of flavor. When the dish is served, everything is piled on top, and while it looks appetizing, I recommend mixing it all together like a salad for a better overall experience. The Pho bowl was served with a side plate of bean sprouts, cilantro, limes, and jalapeños. The broth was flavorful and visually appealing, but I felt that the meat served with the Vermicelli was of higher quality compared to the Pho. The egg rolls and accompanying sauce were quite tasty, but keep in mind that each order comes with only two rolls. The restaurant itself feels quite spacious but somewhat outdated and underutilized. If you're dining with a large group, this place can accommodate you, although the overall atmosphere feels a bit antiquated.
I tried the pork chops with rice, shrimp, and pho, and everything was delightful. For my last visit, I went for lunch and was pleased to see the restaurant full. The food took a bit longer to arrive, around 10 to 15 minutes, compared to just 5 minutes during dinner. I ordered fried chicken wings but was quite disappointed; they were very bland and I wouldn’t recommend them. However, I also had noodles with chicken and a banh mi sandwich with pork to go, both of which were very flavorful. Overall, the food was excellent and quite satisfying.
My initial impression wasn't great, as I had to wait about 30 minutes before I was even acknowledged. I was in a long line trying to get a table for my party of 14. It turned out there were only three servers working, and since we needed to pass the time anyway, I was willing to be patient. Three of us decided to share an XL P15, which was the perfect size. The flavor was good, and the soup was especially comforting on a chilly, rainy day. We also ordered the Fresh Shrimp Summer Roll and I shared a Grilled Pork Ban Mi with my husband. Everything was tasty, and the prices were reasonable. The servers did forget some items, but they were very pleasant. Unfortunately, they didn’t have smoothies available, which my daughter was hoping for, but we opted for a different drink instead.
Food was delicious. Great selection of Vietnamese cuisine from safe to adventurous choices (tripe). Seemed relatively clean, but very dated and decor was a bit strange and a man began performing constrution with power tools during our dinner. Staff was friendly and eager to serve, very attentive.
