We shared the crab cake, which was probably the best I’ve ever ha... read more We started our meal with cocktails and let me tell you Jimmy’s knows how to pour a good drink. We shared the crab cake, which was probably the best I’ve ever had. I asked the waiter if the chef would share the recipe and was told it was online — not. We both had steaks: my friend ordered the filet medium and I ordered the New York medium rare. On the first go ‘round the chef apparently confused the cooking times: my friend’s was a perfect medium rare and mine was a perfect medium. On the next try, my friend’s was perfect, but mine was “black and blue”. On the third try it came out rare. Finally it came out a perfect medium rare. Unfortunately my friend was pretty much done with her meal, while all I had had were the side dishes (which were great). But the NY was worth the wait — one of the very best steaks I have ever had. The service was absolutely horrible. It seemed as if our waiter was trying to ignore us. It wasn’t that he was busy — he stepped out onto the patio several times during the course of the evening. Overall, it’s a shame that Aspen is losing this restaurant.

The food at Jimmy's was consistently good and the bar menu (pre-COVID) an exceptional deal. My favorite dishes are the Mad Dog Salad and the crab cakes. Perfection!
