Modesto, a cozy eatery in Asheville, offers a mixed dining experience. While several patrons raved about the flavorful dishes, such as the Spanish octopus and veal Marsala, others expressed frustrations over service delays and inconsistently cooked entrees. Complaints included overcooked meat and lackluster presentation, leaving some disappointed despite the promise of local, farm-to-table ingredients. The Sicilian Caesar is unlike anything I've ever had. We sat at a high top and our server was Mike the bartender who was wonderful and very attentive. We are excited to go back and try other dishes soon!

We decided at the last minute to go out to dinner while in Asheville on a Friday night. We were lucky to find and get a reservation at Modesto. The restaurant itself is cozy and charming, perfect for date night. Our server Kevin was super friendly and great at going through the different menu items, all which are farm to table. Our meal was delicious! I had the Sophia Loren pasta dish that had shrimp and filet and my boyfriend had the veal chop. We would highly recommend Modesto!
Disappointing experience. The food was average, and the chicken parmigiana was priced at $34.00—definitely overpriced. Next time, we'll go to Vinnies instead.
