The Smokin' Onion - Asheville

If there was an option for 5 stars, I would give it! I have been a vegan for many years and am very enthusiastic about plant-based options. Everything I tried here was fantastic! I will definitely be a regular customer here. The cashew queso was the best I have ever had. Be sure to add it to your order! The food was quickly prepared, packed, and served fresh. I cannot stress enough how big this food truck is.

The crispy smoked onion petals were light and crunchy with a delicious smoky flavor, served with a tasty vegan ranch dipping sauce. The Funicular Mi' sandwich was served on a roasted hoagie roll and featured perfectly cooked mushrooms, mushroom pate, fresh cilantro, pickled carrots, cucumber, and vegan spicy mayo. The menu offers several other vegan options that I look forward to trying again, such as the Cheeze Steak Buffalo Cauliflower Bites.

Wow! The fries are delicious, even when cold! The rest of the food is also fantastic. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's not the healthiest option, but it's definitely worth it.

Great all vegan food trucks! Since I found it first, I find myself going to their website to review the schedule so I can go back. I tried The Town Gyro, the Crabby Patty, the Fritten, and the roasted Brussels and everything was delicious! Tested the new “Cluckin’ Good Sandwich... pure vegan food! They start with a homemade “Kick’n” Patty (I love it that they make almost everything themselves! that was fried “buttermilk” on a homemade bungalow. You top it with smoked onion Jalapeño Marmelade, Pickles and “Alabama White bbq Sauce” to complete this super delicious Sammy! I chose the hand-cut pumice with smoked onions for the choice of sides. I love to support this business... great food and really nice owners... not that many common people would start a vegan food truck! If you are ever in Asheville, NC, check their schedule on the website and find them... Your tastes will thank you, and so the animals will! Updated by previous rating on 2023-01-04
