Das Essen war gut, die Calamari zur Vorspeise sogar sehr gut. Dazu einen guten Merlot, ausgesprochen freundliche Bedienung an herrlicher Lage.

Wie an solchen Lagen meist der Fall ist der Blick in die Umgebung fast besser als der auf den Teller. Nein, das Essen war durchaus geniessbar, aber ohne Höhenflug, und der Service freundlich und zuvorkommend - eigentlich sogar besser als erwartet...

T... read more Nicely located at the good looking boulevard of Ascona we choose this terrace because of the waitress that was smiling and looked as if she liked to be there. There are many more terraces on the same boulevard and there you are looked upon with a sigh by most waiters and waitresses. So this was going to be the one. And rightfully so. Even if the tables are a bit small and the seats don not seem to have been bought at the same store (much too high for the table), we found ourselves relaxed and swiftly served by this very nice lady.We choose a glass of local (ie. Ticinese) white wine. All right if you are not used to try and taste the wine. Not that it was extremely filthy, but being near to Italy, we should have decided for something less local.The menu is simple enough with dishes from big fish plates, salads and some Thai influenced plates. We had ourselves lasagne with some wine from Toscana. Lasagne is one of the most discussed dishes and everyone is convinced that theirs is best. This one was all right but nothing to write on a review site about. It wasn’t cheap ether.We liked the service, the view over the lake and the lady serving our table. Next time that we pass and she will be on duty, we will visit again.
