Contribute FeedbackThe Vardar has become a beloved staple in the community, celebrated for its charming garden setting and friendly, accommodating staff. While experiences vary, many patrons laud the restaurant's delicious food, particularly standout dishes like the Klaftiko and rib with mushroom sauce. The service is often described as excellent, even during busy events, showcasing the team's dedication. Guests appreciate personal touches, such as potted plants for female diners and flexible menu options. Despite some concerns about service speed and noise on occasion, the overall consensus suggests that The Vardar remains a top choice for dining in Littlehampton and West Sussex.
We had a lovely lunch, everything cooked and presented beautifully. Very friendly, helpful staff, family run for the last 44 years! The gift of a potted plant for every lady dining was a very nice touch. We will return.
On a day trip to Littlehampton we stopped here for lunch. I'd seen the overall rating was good and but when we arrived it was a little disappointing. We went into the members bar without realising but they explained we needed to be in the next room and that at first felt like walking into a closed function room with a family sorting a table. Things changed totally from there where we were greeted warmly and sat at a table by the window. We were the only people in the restaurant which worried me a bit. I had no need to worry though, service was amazing, friendly but didn't hover so although we were the only ones there it didn't really feel like the spotlight was on us and the food was absolutely excellent. The children had standard nuggets/ fish fingers and chips. It didn't come out boiling hot which I liked as the children could tuck in right away. Us two adults had steak and ale pie and chips and the Cajun salad. One melon starter too. We had requested all that to arrive at the same time as we had already ordered the children's food before ordering anything else and the melon was to be their dessert. The steak and ale pie was one of the best we've tasted and so fresh with a really generous filling and beautiful pastry. The salad, fresh again and with a lovely dressing. The melon was great and all dishes were well presented. Nothing was too much trouble and they made the children feel very welcome. Prices are reasonable and I'll definitely go back.
Well if you haven't been to have an evening meal at The Vardar then you don't know what you're missing. Fantastic service with smiles and courtesy like years ago. The meal was perfection and I don't say that easily! Huge rib with mash, mushroom sauce or homemade gravy and hot fresh vegetables . The presentation was second to none and bordering on cordon bleu! Desserts were delicious as was the lemon sorbet. Children had a lovely choice and nice wine too. Word needs to get out that this is the place to eat in Littlehampton and indeed West Sussex . Can't praise it enough Liz
We had a lovely family meal last night to celebrate our eldest sons birthday. The staff are so friendly and attentive. We had the two sharing platters to start which were amazing plenty for 6 adults . They brought the children's meals as soon as they were ready which was great. All our mains arrived together and all plates cleared great menu choices something for everyone. This restaurant is a little treasure hidden in Littlehampton . Thank you for a lovely evening .
Cannot recommend this restaurant enough, we have been several times before but never for a Christmas lunch. The food was excellent and plentiful I personally did not like the soup, although everybody else said it was lovelly, and I was offered the choice of pate or melon which was not on the menu! The service was unbelievable, especially with so many people to serve and all the staff were very friendly. I cannot recommend the Vardar highly enough.
