I visited on a Saturday afternoon around 2 PM with my dog Michi. The establishment was empty and quite dark inside. I asked if Michi could come in, and the bartender directed me to the covered patio outside. The weather was lovely, in the low 80s with a gentle breeze—an ideal setting for enjoying a beer and a classic hamburger while listening to a local band. Unfortunately, that pleasant experience didn't materialize. Instead, I found the place to be unpleasantly dirty and lacking any vision for how it could truly shine. Also, a Budweiser beer was priced at $3.50, which isn't as good a deal as other reviewers have suggested.

We were headed north and needed to find a TV to catch the NBA Finals, but as anyone familiar with this part of the desert knows, options are limited. Then we discovered this gem. While the food selection isn't extensive, they have plenty of cold, affordable beers—our two drinks cost us under $6. The bartender was kind enough to put the game on for us, and the other customers were generally friendly. If you're looking to get a feel for a local hangout when they want to quench their thirst, this is the place to go.

It is clean, even the restroom, and big enough for lots of people. There 's a fireplace to cuddle around and tables, plus a long, old wooden bar. From I-25 take exit 59 and go east about 2 miles. It 's on the right. Maybe I 'll see you there.
