If you like a rustic old west style ' tavern, this is it. The servers are very friendly and attentive and the prices are moderate $3-4.00 for a beer). It is clean, even the restroom, and big enough for lots of people. There 's a fireplace to cuddle around and tables, plus a long, old wooden bar. From I-25 take exit 59 and go east about 2 miles. It's great that this restaurant is conveniently located near both Caballo Lake and Percha Dam State Parks. I visited on a Saturday afternoon around 2 PM with my dog Michi. The establishment was empty and quite dark inside. I asked if Michi could come in, and the bartender directed me to the covered patio outside. The establishment was empty and quite dark inside. I asked if Michi could come in, and the bartender directed me to the covered patio outside. The weather was lovely, in the low 80s with a gentle breeze—an ideal setting for enjoying a beer and a classic hamburger while listening to a local band. Unfortunately, that pleasant experience didn't materialize. Instead, I found the place to be unpleasantly dirty and lacking any vision for how it could truly shine. Also, a Budweiser beer was priced at $3.50, which isn't as good a deal as other reviewers have suggested.
This is a welcoming and friendly bar close to Percha Dam State Park. They offer a great variety of beers and plenty of options for liquor and mixed drinks.
What an incredible experience! This place is a must-visit, and the lovely waitress made it even better!
