This converted church is excellent, offering a beautiful selection of vegan foods. The staff was wonderful and very friendly, catering to our needs. The food was absolutely delicious. This is definitely the best choice for dining in Tobermory. I may have accidentally left a review for the wrong restaurant before, but regardless, dining at the church was a great experience. What Robert Paul doesn't like about The Gallery Cafe:
The service at this restaurant was awful. The staff clearly need more training. It seemed as though they were irritated by our presence and we felt like we were inconveniencing them. View all feedback.
Overpriced and poor quality overall. It’s like they don’t need to try giving a quality experience as the tourists will just keep pouring in. Our salad was old, we could tell by the nasty slimy leaves. A $20 (Australian Dollars) deserves more than supermarket sliced bread. A bit of cleaning around the place wouldn’t go astray either. And for god sake teach the staff how to present themselves when working with food and don’t carry drinks by the tops of the drinking vessels where we drink from. Lift your game. You have a wonderful space that could be something special. At best it is ordinary as it stands and you can do better if you want to charge top dollar, or top pound.
The best Cafe in Tobermory...fresh,local food, nice people!!!
I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered the spicy veg burger, it was pretty bland, tasted like it was reheated via a microwave. My son got a baked potato that was partially cooked. Service was very slow, we were also given the wrong menus upon being seated. One of the servers walked around with his headphones in and didn't really seem to know what to do.
Friendly people working and a beautiful setting in an old church. The food was lacking flavour, could do better. The puppy by counter was a highlight.
We ordered a breakfast bun and a filled bagel, the egg was hard, the bread roll was stale however the bagel was good. Train your staff and watch your reviews rise, maybe aim for excellence instead of mediocrity. Partners review : Ordered a breakfast bun with egg and a potato scone. On attempting to tackle my breakfast with vigour, (after an enthusiastic and hunger-inducing 4km walk to the lighthouse and back), I was left disappointed. The bun, I imagined had sat lonely for a long time, forgotten in the dark recesses of the bread bin. By the time it was fished out, bought into the light and topped with a hard egg, it was a pitiful, stale offering. Never before have I found myself feeling sorry for my food!
