It was our anniversary, so I wanted to have a special culinary experience for myself and my wife. The Western Skeltons did not disappoint. There were four of us in our party. We ordered salmon cerviche and I had lobster bisque for starters. For the main course, we had three steaks and a venison dish with special black pudding and a potato stack. Matthew, the manager, was very young but made sure his employees took good care of the customers. Although two of the male servers were from Eastern Europe and had limited English, they were polite and we did not have any issues with their service. I have been visiting Mull and Tobermory since 1993, but had never eaten in the Western Skeltons before. That will definitely change from now on. They have a unique menu featuring local produce, a good selection of wines and spirits, all at a reasonable price.
This is the best hotel in Scotland. It will make you want to stay forever. Tobermory is stunning. Last summer, I enjoyed drinks on the terrace in the sunshine. I can't wait to go back. The staff is fantastic, the drinks are amazing, the food is delicious, and the views are incredible. Be sure to say hello to the owners and mention that I recommended them!
The Western Isles Hotel is a stunning, historic building that is also a top-notch hotel. The suite was incredibly comfortable with an amazing view and a cozy bed that made it difficult to leave in the morning, except for the delicious breakfast waiting in the breakfast room. Dinner in the winter garden was excellent, with stunning views of the harbor and city. The staff and owners were truly exceptional, from booking to saying goodbye. Special thanks to Mackey, Molly, Jason, and the dogs in the reception area who provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere, especially for those missing their own dogs at home.
Great hotel! I did not stay in the night, but I visited the evening for a drink and returned to the breakfast next morning! beautiful building and a beautiful environment with breathtaking view! really helpful and friendly staff. free wlan was also great as if they are an O2 customer signal on the island, can be difficult! the breakfast was presented wonderfully and very good inexpensive! if I were to visit again what I intend to do, I would certainly look at staying at the western isles hotel!
