The food at the Loch Melfort was first class and portion size fabulous. Presently you are able to select items from both the restaurant or bistro menus in the restaurant. The seafood is fresh and beautifully presented with high quality locally sourced produce. A very... View all feedback.
What drfoody doesn't like about At Loch Melfort:
This was one of the worst lunches I have had for a long time despite lovely weather and a wonderful location. I have also eaten here before and been satisfied. Firstly the service was very slow and after 1.5 hours we has had just one... View all feedback.
We booked (24hrs in advance) for an afternoon tea for two, and we were not disappointed. They'd reserved a lovely spot for us looking out to sea across the Isles, and all colleagues were very attentive right from the get-go. The decor and ambience of the room were very nice, it's a bright and airy setting with a stunning view. The afternoon tea was plentiful, there was no need for the side order of chips we placed, although they were very, very nice. The sandwich selection, the many cakes, and the four scones were very well presented and delicious. They were more than enough. The service was excellent too, nothing was too much trouble for the colleagues and they did everything they could to make it a memorable occasion. Thank you very much.
We had a nice sandwich lunch with coffee and cake in the café adjacent to the hotel. Friendly staff, good food and great sea view. The menu is good, however expensive for a sandwich lunch, I suspect that you are paying for the location and the sea view. There is a spacious outdoor patio area if you wish to eat outside.
We had a confirmed reservation with the hotel which they chose to cancel because one of their guests chose to extend their stay. They absolutely refused to accept their fault and were rude and inconsiderate of the fact that this was cancelled without informing us or offering any alternatives. They absolutely ruined the start of our vacation. Please avoid this hotel if you want peace of mind
A lovely lunch in a glorious setting . The delicious food was served by friendly, smiling staff who could not be faulted.
Eaten here a few times, lunch and dinner. Prices high for what is offered. Had to season meals which I never do. Mille feuille to be avoided. Not appealing to the eye and the basil dribble is quite medicinal. However, the bread and sorbet are delicious. Waiting staff pretty good.
