On a sunny day, there is nothing better than dining outdoors in the spacious grassy rural setting of this restaurant. However, if you prefer indoor seating, that option is available as well. Despite its close proximity to our home, dining here feels like a vacation. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, including a great children's menu. The beer selection from Fyne Ales is outstanding. There is a small play area for children that has recently been upgraded. The prices are very reasonable. Our grandchildren adore this place and always choose it for lunch outings. Unfortunately, it is only open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays. The Barn has done a great job. It is advisable to make reservations, but it is typically not too crowded at lunchtime, so you won't feel like you are fighting for space. There are also nice walking paths nearby.
The Barn Bar managed to fit my family in at late notice. The food was fantastic. Portion sizes very generous. Would recommend well worth the trip. Owner and staff fantastic
My husband booked us here on a Saturday afternoon. Greeted warmly from Glen and seated promptly. Our drink order was taken and time given to look over the menu. Good variety of food choices to choose from at reasonable prices. My husband had the chicken...strips and I chose the black pudding fritters, both were lovely. For mains my husband chose the steak pie which he highly recommended and I had the king scallops and mash, which were amazing. Pudding was the biscoff cheesecake and Eton mess Sunday, both were delicious. Would highly recommend and would return if back in the area.
Lucky enough to visit on a Saturday lunchtime this summer when things started to open up in Scotland, felt very safe with all the COVID safety protocols in place—socially distanced seating, table service, one-way system, hand sanitizer everywhere, and solicitous staff all in masks. Food...fabulous and arrived quickly; seafood particularly first class (as it hadn’t had far to come sorry that the live music wasn’t on due to the current circumstances, and would make it my first stop when we’re back in the district and all this virus nonsense is behind us. So sorry to hear everything has closed down again — take heart we’ll be back.
