Although Panera wasn't my first choice for a meal, I decided to use a gift card I had. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress me. The portion sizes were small and the selection of side dishes was limited. While the flavors were satisfactory, the overall experience didn't meet my expectations. On a positive note, the service was outstanding. Our meals arrived quickly and hot. However, the portion sizes just weren't enough. We ordered a chicken sandwich, which only came with a slice of bread as a side, leaving me somewhat confused. After we left, we found ourselves talking about what we should eat next.
I had a really disappointing experience at this Panera Bread location! Every time I’ve ordered from here, there’s been some kind of problem—whether it's forgetting utensils, not following my customization requests, or making mistakes despite my receipt clearly indicating what I wanted. Today, my warm Baja bowl was served frozen! How is that even possible? The portion sizes here are also significantly smaller than at other locations. Overall, this location has been quite disappointing. On the bright side, I’ve had great experiences at the Panera locations in Citrus Heights and the Bay Area. This location definitely needs some serious retraining.
Williams is truly the best customer service representative I've ever encountered! He treated us as though we were dining in a five-star restaurant, making our lunch date feel extra special. His warm welcome and positive attitude made the experience delightful. It was a pleasure to be around him!
I came to Panera Bread to pick up a salad for my wife. Although there were a few customers inside, it didn’t seem overly busy, and I was able to place my order easily. However, the wait time was much longer than expected. As I waited, the line behind me grew longer. Eventually, an employee checked on my order and explained it hadn't appeared on the screen yet and might still be several orders back. It ended up taking 25 minutes to receive a salad. It didn’t look that busy to me, but maybe there was a large or complicated order ahead. A heads-up about the delay would have been appreciated. I’m giving two stars because the staff were friendly and my wife thought the salad was excellent.
**Summary:** Incorrect takeout orders with missing items and no apology or compensation for the inconvenience. This is the only Panera Bread location I've frequented since it’s close to my home, but my experience has been frustrating. I’m reluctant to tip for takeout at places like this. While I don’t expect overly friendly service when collecting my order, I do expect accuracy—and the receipt clearly lists what I ordered. Additionally, the parking lot is often cluttered with trash, and there are some questionable individuals loitering around, which is typical for the area. The staff also seem to have difficulty managing their duties. I originally chose takeout to avoid stressful interactions, especially as a socially anxious person dealing with hunger-induced irritability, but this location consistently tests my patience. This isn’t the first time my takeout order was incorrect. The food itself is usually decent depending on your choice. Pastries are a safe bet—though some can be dry, I haven’t had major issues. I like the French onion soup, which is only available after 10 AM, and the soufflés are freshly made in the morning; arriving within an hour of opening is the best way to get one. I’ve also ordered sandwiches, mac & cheese, bagels, and drinks here, and they generally taste as expected for the price. One feature I appreciate about the app is the ability to customize sandwiches with ingredient substitutions. Unfortunately, the service quality doesn’t live up to the food.
