Restaurant on the beech in Miramar south of Porto. They have traditional Portuguese food with the extra choice of great sushi! Try the picanha Brazilian type steak wth black beans gorgeous. Lovely staff we had a fantastic get together on the eve of my daughters wedding. Great memories. !! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Areal Praia:
We ordered sushi & sashimi menu, and although it was very tasteful, it was mostly based on salmon and tuna. Indeed, sashimi was only salmon fish, which was a disappointment to all of us. The service was good, in general, but serving small bottles of water is not correct, specially in summer days, and the tiny increase of cost would really make a difference to the clients. I've been in Areal Restaurante for 20 years. The new management has no idea how to run an established restaurant. We have a table for family and friends for 20:15... 4 children and 6 adults... The children eat at 21:45! Just... after they get up and get closer to the waiter to question them. Our food came at 10:00... 2 hours waiting!! For a Francesinha..?!!! Every restaurant that went through 7! Chefs in 2 months don't deserve business. I recommend zero stars for this place. Unfortunately, the new owners have no experience in attractive customers.
I come here with my family at least one time a month. The restaurant has very good vibes. I really like the sushis there. The beach view is very nice. The portuguese food is surprisingly good there. The sangria is very nice.
Great local dishes, best seafood we had in the area. Reserve a table for sunset! The grilled squids were amazing, recommended to share a dish for 2. Skip starters, leave space for main dish
No problems with the staff and the food is okay. The deal breaker is the toilet. If you are a single father or an equal couple, do not go to this restaurant, which remains in a century where women are solely responsible for changing the...Babys diaper.
Looks can be deceptive, as Areal Praia looks nothing much in the outside. The main dining area is lovely. Service is good, if sometimes a little too efficient rather than relaxed. I love the fact they are willing to do off menu vegetarian options ...something fairly rare in Portugal. My Picanha was delicious. Tasty, tender and well seasoned. Served with rice, fries, black beans etc... nice wine list but a few missing at our visit. My first and second choices gone. I have used Areal Praia for around 5 years ... and always rate it! Highly recommended.
