The staff was incredibly friendly, and I had enjoyable conversations with them, including the chef, during both of my visits. I tried the vegan BBQ pork sandwich, and it was the best I’ve ever had. They also had some vegan baked goods in their display case and were more than happy to accommodate vegan catering requests. Don’t forget to ask about their selection of vegan cupcakes, which they keep frozen in the back. Your Keksteig cupcake will be worth it! I know this diner will be a go-to spot every time I return to Appleton. **Update: Unfortunately, this diner is now permanently closed.**

I was also pleasantly surprised by how affordable it was. As someone who is gluten-free, I was relieved to find that there was no cross-contamination.
