The atmosphere of this small restaurant is fantastic. There is a DJ on Fridays and occasionally live bands, which adds to the fun vibe of the place.
The bartender was friendly, BUT she overcharged us for the drinks. Even though there were only three other people in the bar, she didn't hesitate to take advantage and steal money from each of us. I gave her a tip of 10 dollars for one pressed seltzer, but she pocketed the rest. This kind of dishonest business practice is unacceptable. It also happened to be my birthday, making the experience even worse. I am normally a generous tipper, but I will never return to this establishment if they continue to take advantage of their customers like this.
At 10:30 on new years eve there were only 5 people at this bar and when I paid with a ten th ef bartender told me I had used a 5, second time trying this ba rdd out and it has as always been a major disappointment, first time the tap beer was flat.
However, there were a few things that could be improved. They were out of bread and meat for the ruban I ordered, and they were also out of onion rings my friend tried to order. It would have been nice if they had informed us of this earlier, as it showed some disorganization. They also need a POS system instead of writing orders on a normal ticket book and giving post-it notes for the bill. Despite these issues, Study Hall is a nice bar and grill in an area with few upscale options. Gayle clearly puts a lot of effort into making the restaurant successful. The prices are a bit higher, with our bills being over $20 each, but overall it is a nice spot. My friend raved about the fish tacos, saying they were the best he had ever had.
