Was Ash Lovejoy at Rye a mag?

Killer vibe and the food was amazing. I just went by myself but it would be the perfect spot for an intimate dinner. I had the swordfish and it was cooked perfectly. Absolutely delicious and beautiful presentation. The staff was very friendly and helpful thank you for having me! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner View all feedback.

Came here for NYE and everything was 10/10. I ordered the scallops (to die for) and my boyfriend ordered the steak. We finished the meal with the vanilla crème brûlée. The portions were decent, service was great and the atmosphere is always amazing. I will always be happy to return to Rye. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Great cocktails, outstanding squash ravioli. Chicken Marsala was so-so. Very nice ambiance and great service. Please get some wine serving glasses to match your prices!

Food was great. I had a reservation for 10 people at 7:30pm on Saturday. We where about 8-10 minutes late to the reservation due to unexpected lack of parking in the area. Waitress seemed irritated with us from the start after I apologized to her for being late. Did not ask what our reservation was for but it was my birthday and I had people from out of town visiting me and was so excited about the night. Typically when you have a big group of people and can sense excitement, waitstaff will match your energy and celebrate with you, unfortunately I did not get that experience. She was somewhat friendly but after asking her how we could split the check she acted like my questions really bothered her. We spent $771 and tipped the 20% that was automatically charged to us I would have tipped more if service was better but I genuinely felt guilty for being there, which wasn’t a good feeling. Multiple people in my group made comments about how they feel like we where inconveniencing our waitress just by being there.I 100% understand maybe she was just having a stressful night but I’ve been in the service industry a long time and I would be excited for a big table spending hundreds of dollars and tipping roughly $160.I have been to this restaurant once before and came back specifically for the food. I am posting this to hopefully remind staff that customers are spending a lot of money and even if someone is younger or has a big group doesn’t make us an inconvenience (some people in my group thought maybe they wrote us off because we are in our 20s? Not sure but could have been a factor). None the less we are paying customers.I am not planning on again coming to this restaurant with how many options we have in this area because even with great food, the service did not justify the price. I will add a new review to the restaurant if they respond in anyway to me about this complaint*disclaimer I typically never post anything like this but I really felt the need to explain this situation

Amazing atmosphere. Great service. Phenomenal food. Incredible drinks. Here’s what we had House Malbec and Blackberry Lavender Martini along with Sautéed Whisky Bacon Shrimp to start. Then the Filet Mignon and Pan Seared Scallops. Crème Brûlée for dessert topped it off perfectly. If we could have, we would have had seconds of everything it was so beyond delicious. We will be back. Keep up the fantastic menu!!

We have only been to Rye twice now and it was perfect both times. Both myself and husband celebrated our birthdays with dinner at Rye. Everything from food to drinks to service and ambiance was top notch and we were pleased there were options for our kids as well. If you are looking for a high end, special dinner, I would highly recommend making a reservation. Bonus you can on open table.

Never had a bad meal here but staff and atmosphere need real help. Wednesday 7/20/2022 6pm reservations. Promptly greeted and seated.Too dark to read the menu. (Three tables near us also used the flashlight on their phone)To make matters worse we had one person at our table facing the front of the restaurant and the bright light was blinding him. No shade on the window to draw down. Waiter did not care. Music is not fine dining and too loud. (50’s Hound Dog Elvis, and Animal House Shout we’re the first two songs and it continued) This is advertised as a fine dining establishment based on food, drinks and prices, unfortunately some people think shorts and a T shirt are acceptable anywhere. Wish this place (and others) had a dress code. We like to dress up and celebrate when we go out for an occasion. This isn’t a pancake house which I also love and wear shorts and a T shirt to when I go but Rye is labeled as fine dining. Atmosphere was nice upon entry (6pm weeknight) but by 7:25pm the conversations were so noisy it was way too much. Food: Stuffed Date small plate, quantity 4 exactly as described. Marinara spiced sauce under the dates also very tasty. Whiskey Shrimp small plate had a wonderful garlic herb tomato sauce addictive sopped it up with the bread! Pork chops with carrots tender and delicious! Salmon perfectly cooked and awesome sauce. Brussels sprouts were cook thru and charred on the outside. Burger great! Hint of heat with the jalapeños but the jerk sauce makes it fabulous. Pink as ordered. Ravioli with the arugula on the side. More al dente then I like but delicious sauce and filling. Waiter Shane knew the menu very well. He initially was attentive but once entrees were served and tables started filling we were forgotten. He walked by and asked if everything was ok but was past the table before we could respond and looked over his shoulder as one of us said “tastes good!” Also Shane never came back for more drinks and our empty bar glasses sat on the table while we ate our entrees with our water. Sad because we were going to order more. Between the noise and the poor service follow thru, we decided to skip desert here and try somewhere else on our way home. Great food but probably won’t be back with so many other options in the Fox Valley cities.

Rye catered our Egg Harbor wedding for 95+ guests in July 2022. The team curated the best food using local ingredients which included 4 passed appetizers, a family style meal of salmon, steak, two salads, a pasta dish and bread with their signature chive butter as well as the most delicious dessert platter and late night sliders and cheese curds. We received SO many compliments about the food. One of our two main priorities for the wedding was great food, and Rye really knocked it out of the park. Not only was the food amazing, but the service and attention to detail were 5 star! Special shout-out to their event coordinator Charlotte for all of her help and guidance throughout the process. We would recommend Rye to ANYONE!

The Rye is a small, intimate restaurant offering organic, local foods. They serve very high quality dishes and have a broad bar menu. The chicken was the most tender and juicy I have ever had! The menu is limited so I recommend you take a peek before you go to ensure there is something on the menu you like, and that you are prepared for the prices as well.

I have never had a bad meal at Rye, but the staff and atmosphere definitely need improvement. We had a reservation on Wednesday, 7/20/2022, at 6 PM. We were greeted and seated promptly, but the lighting was so dim that it was hard to read the menu—several nearby tables even resorted to using their phone flashlights. To make matters worse, one person at our table was facing a bright front light that was blinding him, and there was no shade to pull down on the window. The waiter seemed indifferent to this issue. The music was unsuitable for a fine dining experience, playing loud 50’s hits like Elvis Presley and songs from Animal House, which continued throughout the evening. Rye markets itself as a fine dining establishment based on its food, drinks, and prices, but some guests arrived in shorts and T-shirts, which felt out of place. I wish Rye, and similar places, enforced a dress code. We enjoy dressing up to celebrate special occasions and expect a fitting ambiance. Rye is not a casual spot like a pancake house, where casual attire is more acceptable. At 6 PM, the atmosphere was pleasant, but by 7:25 PM, the noise level from conversations became overwhelming and detracted from the experience. As for the food, everything was excellent: the Stuffed Dates small plate came as described with four pieces and a flavorful spiced marinara beneath them. The Whiskey Shrimp, served with a garlic herb tomato sauce, was addictive—we even used bread to soak up the sauce! The pork chops with carrots were tender and delicious, and the salmon was perfectly cooked with an outstanding sauce. The Brussels sprouts were cooked through and nicely charred on the outside. The burger had a great kick from jalapeños and an amazing jerk sauce, served pink as requested. The ravioli with arugula on the side was more al dente than I prefer, but the sauce and filling were delicious. Our waiter, Shane, knew the menu very well and was attentive at first, but once the entrees arrived and the restaurant filled up, we felt neglected. When he passed by to ask if everything was okay, he kept walking before we could respond, and glanced back only after we said, “tastes good!” Shane also didn’t return to refill our drinks, leaving our glasses empty. Overall, the food at Rye lives up to its fine dining reputation, but the service and atmosphere need significant attention, especially considering the prices and expectations set by their menu.

The ambiance of this restaurant is fantastic, the service is excellent, and the food is outstanding. The drinks are also remarkable. We kicked off our meal with a House Malbec and a Blackberry Lavender Martini, accompanied by Sautéed Whisky Bacon Shrimp. For our main courses, we chose the Filet Mignon and Pan-Seared Scallops. The Crème Brûlée for dessert was an ideal finish to the meal. Everything was so delicious that we found ourselves wishing we could have seconds of everything. We will certainly be coming back to sample more items from the menu. Keep up the wonderful work!

I had an incredible experience at this restaurant, thanks to its wonderful atmosphere, delicious cocktails, and great food! The service was exceptional, particularly from Chelsea, who served up tasty drinks and offered excellent recommendations. I tried the Chicken Piccata, and it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. I highly recommend this place, but be sure to make a reservation, as it tends to get busy even on quieter nights. I went on a Tuesday, and most diners had made reservations.

We've visited Rye twice so far, and both times were exceptional. My husband and I celebrated our birthdays there, and everything—from the food and drinks to the service and ambiance—was outstanding. We were delighted to find tasty options for our children too. If you're looking for a special and upscale dining experience, I highly recommend making a reservation at Rye. An additional perk is the convenience of booking through OpenTable.
