Absolutely wonderful! Atmosphere is nice, service is great and the food is spectacular!!!
It's been about a year since I've had the chance to eat real Ramen, so I was excited to try out Bowl Ninety One on a recent trip to Appleton. The place was packed when we arrived, and it appeared only two servers were working. Despite that, the servers were polite and friendly and very capably taking care of everyone. We waited about half an hour to be seated, and it was well worth the wait! We had Hmong egg rolls and edamame as an appetizer. The egg rolls were fried to perfection with tasty fresh carrots and cabbage, and the edamame was seasoned and steamed well. For our main dishes we ordered spicy miso Ramen, and Thong Katsu (tonkotsu) Ramen. Both were fabulous, with generous portions and a perfect balance of spice and flavor. Everyone was full and happy at the end of our meal, and we'll definitely be coming back!
I thought the lemongrass chicken would be more flavorful, but it was pretty bland. I will try the noodle dishes next time!
Update: We returned for a second visit, and the experience was just as fantastic as before. The Spicy Miso Ramen is still our favorite dish. The Crab Rangoon and Happy Belly Buns were both delicious, and the Fried Rice 91 continues to amaze us.
Appleton has quickly become one of my favorite places to dine, with a standout restaurant that I can't recommend enough. Every bite, from the beginning to the end, is bursting with flavor. I strongly suggest trying the Bulgogi kimchi fries and the lemongrass chicken tacos—they are must-tries!
