Wang's Kitchen
3.6 / 5 (10 reviews)

Description

Nestled in a neighborhood shopping center, this family-run Chinese takeout spot delivers dependable, flavorful comfort food with quick service and a warm, informal vibe. Standouts include savory egg rolls, Hunan shrimp and hearty lo mein; some dishes can be oily or lack generous meat portions, and fried rice occasionally reads bland. Counter service and speedy pickups make it ideal for families and takeout regulars, though menu labeling can confuse orders and a few customers reported billing hiccups with third-party delivery.

I ordered the Sesame Chicken and the Broccoli Chicken. The food was decent, but a bit too oily for my taste, which left us feeling quite heavy and full. However, it was very flavorful. The service was satisfactory. We’ll return, but not in the immediate future. The ambiance was what you'd expect from a typical small family-owned restaurant.

Wangs consistently serves up delicious food, and their service is exceptional. The other day, I accidentally left my wallet at home, yet they still let me take my meal. I returned later to pay for it, but I really appreciated their generosity. It's rare to find that kind of kindness. This place has a wonderful family atmosphere, and the food is even more impressive.

As for the food, there were some highlights: the egg roll was fantastic—definitely the best part of my meal. The Egg Drop soup was also enjoyable, packed with flavor and not too watery. On the downside, the General Tso’s chicken consisted mostly of small fried pieces with very little actual chicken. The pork fried rice was rather bland and lacked pork as well. I also ordered chicken lo mein, which was similarly disappointing—just basic Chinese food with no vegetables. In summary, while it was a decent experience, the offerings were rather typical, and I believe there are better options in the neighborhood for the dishes I chose.

Wang's has received some negative reviews due to poor customer service, but my visit was quite the opposite. I arrived early, and my order was already ready. The guy at the counter wasn’t particularly chatty, but he greeted me and expressed his thanks, which was fine by me—let's let the food do the talking! And it certainly did! The Hunan Shrimp was packed with flavor and came with a generous portion of rice. The egg roll was a bit overcooked but still had the tasty flavor you’d expect. In my experience with shopping center Chinese food, I would definitely rate Wang's a solid 4 out of 5!
