The food was great and the service was outstanding this place has a great atmosphere and it was perfect for the occasion.
Wonderful nite out after suffering a period of very little dining for some time -evil COVID. The streets were void of cars and the outdoor seating extended out into the streets!! Beyond festive and just what we needed!!!! (Hope they continue this) Service and good was great.
I was thrilled that Gratzi had dining available outside on the lovely summer day we visited. It was a wonderful experience to dine al fresco, savor delicious food, and receive excellent service.
We go to Gratzi for special times and as a break from the ordinary. Alex or server was excellent and attentive. The only problem was the food. The Caesar Salad was as expected and then came the food. I ordered the dish that features eggplant stacked with mozzarella and a side of spaghetti with Marinara (Melanzana alla Parmigiana I could smell the dish before it reached the table, and thought the manager had gone out and smoked a cigarette prior to serving the dish, however it was not the manager, but the dish itself! It had so much smoke flavor to it that it literally smelled like a cigarette. It tasted of smoke as well. Needless to say i did not finish the dish. I did not complain to the management because i did not want to embarrass my companion, since this was a special date for us. His entree was better than mine but a smaller portion than in the past...he had the shrimp dish with goat cheese and pasta, specifically Farfalle di Gamberi- bowtie pasta, sautéed jumbo gulf shrimp, spinach, goat cheese, roasted red pepper cream, basil oil The shrimp were overcooked, but again the portion was small compared to our past experiences and we are not big eaters expecting gross servings of food. The wine was about $56 plus tax for the bottle, and the waiter informed us we could probably buy it at Plum Market for $25. All in all, this was a sad experience. It 's too bad because this used to be one of the places we could rely on enjoying a great dinner.
