Siam - Ankeny
Siam
Description
Siam Table in Ankeny, Iowa offers a variety of vegan-friendly dishes, including a flavorful yellow curry and pumpkin dish, both made without fish sauce. While the curry was good, it fell short of being the best I've ever had.

Favorite place to eat in Ankeny. The food is always hot, always delicious, the service is super friendly and quick, it's always clean and the vibes are great. My wife, son, and I are at Siam Table last night for the first time. I had the sweet basil chicken. They both had pad Thai tofu. We all agreed that it was the best meal we had had while eating out in as long as we could remember. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. The waiter was kind, cheerful, and a lot of fun. The food arrived quickly. It's in a strip mall, but the atmosphere was quiet and enjoyable. FWIW, this is the first time I've reviewed a restaurant online. I bothered to do so simply because we enjoyed the meal so much. Ordered online so don’t any comments about seating inside. But I ordered chicken pad Thai and drunken noodles with beef. Paid $2 extra to have them add beef. There was hardly any beef or chicken in it. If I’m paying $50 for two entrees and an order of spring rolls, 5 small rolls for $10, I would expect some meat. The spring rolls tasted ok but were extremely greasy. Service: Takeaway Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3
Absolutely love this place! The Pad Thai is fantastic, and the people are always so kind. We've never had a bad experience, and I'm sure we've ordered from here 20-30+ times over the years. It's affordable as well! Service: Take out Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Our waitress was an older woman with glasses. She was quite passive towards us during our stay to the point of not acknowledging my mom 's birthday after I told her we were there to celebrate. After dinner, and after our checks were settled, we were mid conversation when she came by and bussed our water glasses (all that was left on the table)... Anyone that knows serving knows this is a passive aggressive way to say get out. The dining room was closing in 20 minutes. I know from experience that once the checks are settled, you don 't need to kick people out 20 minutes before you close up. Afterall, we had only been there for an hour and 20 minutes not an unreasonable amount of time to sit down for a dinner. Not to mention the restaurant was empty most of the night. We were the only ones in there from 6:30 to 7:45 (when we left). They have 3 options for spice. None, medium, hot. I ordered medium but in no way shape or form should a medium immediately start burning your mouth as soon as it touches your tongue. The other dishes ordered were pretty bland based on the consensus of the table. Would recommend driving to the other side of town for Silk Elephant. Much better service, environment, flavor.
