What Rmsusieb doesn't like about Strathmore Fish:
During my visit to Forfar, we decided to try out this fish and chip shop based on reviews. The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. If I had known, I would have asked for a smaller portion as the standard size came with one and a half fish and an excessive amount of chips. The fish was overcooked and covered in too much batter, making it tough and unappetizing. The chips... View all feedback. What wlee194 likes about Strathmore Fish:

The food is freshly cooked to order and the friendly banter of the staff whilst waiting , is truly entertaining! View all feedback.

The fish was enormous but the batter was soggy and stuck to the chips . Not great the place is tiny and May have been public toilet at one time.

read moreForfar Fish and Chip Shop was a mixed bag with positive and negative reviews. Some customers found the fish overcooked and the chips greasy, while others praised the friendly staff and large portions. The owner, Gary, was highlighted as a positive aspect of the shop. The shop also featured a charity bookshop and a selection of sweets. The shop included thoughtful touches like triple-wrapping to accommodate customers traveling a distance. Despite some issues, the majority of reviewers enjoyed their experience and praised the food quality, prices, and overall atmosphere of the shop.
We love to pick up a takeaway when passing through Forfar, and eat it overlooking the loch. It's cooked fresh, so it's not fast food, but we don't mind.
