What User doesn't like about Yewfield:
I visited this hotel during a yoga retreat, and while the hotel itself was lovely with a fantastic yoga studio offering breathtaking views, I found the overall atmosphere to be somewhat outdated and lacking in charm. Since my stay was a few years ago (in 2018), it’s possible that things have improved since then! View all feedback.
We enjoyed a generous vegan breakfast option, and we were impressed by the spacious and lovely room we had.

The guest house also offers self-catering apartments at the back for those who prefer to prepare their own meals. We will definitely choose to stay here again, as we enjoy self-catering accommodations. During our recent visit, we booked three nights to celebrate my husband’s birthday and our wedding anniversary, staying in the Vale View suite, which boasts stunning views over the valley. Vale View is a lovely room featuring a large bed, a sofa, a sitting area, a large armchair, a music system, and a DVD player, along with tea and coffee facilities, and even a big day bed. Due to COVID-19 precautions, we ordered breakfast the night before using a website link that was sent before our arrival, which worked seamlessly throughout our stay. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the beautiful, bright dining room or the winter garden. There was a great selection of breakfast options, including both continental and cooked meals. They offered oat, almond, and soy milk, as well as vegan spread. The food was delicious; the porridge with maple syrup was exceptional, and we enjoyed it every morning. My husband particularly loved the scrambled tofu and requested it daily. There is also a guest lounge where you can read or simply relax, and I can imagine it would be very cozy in winter with a roaring fire. On the first-floor landing, there’s a seating area complete with a selection of DVDs to watch and a guest fridge stocked with various plant-based milks and jugs for the rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Yewfield, despite the rainy weather during our three days. We will certainly return in the future. Highly recommended!

Have just returned from a 3 night break in the Vale View suite. What a fabulous place. Lovely room, spectacular location, friendly staff. Good value package included a 3 course meal in each of their vegetarian restaurants in Ambleside. The breakfasts were about the best we've had anywhere. Covid 19 measures meant rather than a buffet breakfast, you selected online what you wanted with a choice of time slots, done the day before. I much preferred this it worked really well. The food was outstanding, fresh and delicious, plenty of vegan options. The walks from the hotel were lovely, a quick half hour stroll across the fields took you to Hawkshead and a longer walk around Tarn Hows gave stunning views. We will definitely return.
