The food was 1st c... read more Pena was the most fantastic experience on our 8 days journey in the North of Portugal. Sitting outside in the fantastic ambience was amazing. The food was 1st class in every way. My order of scallops, pork cheek and vanilla ice cream was superb in every way. Prepared to perfection. And the Espumante from Dalva, the red wine also from Dalva, Port, Calvados. Everything excellent. And not to forget the service. Attentive, but not hanging over your shoulder at all times. Thank you! The place is very special because of the surroundings. Beautiful buildings (both traditional and modern), orange trees, wine grapes etc. Magic!

Well worth the price, although it is pricier than other options in the regision

The service was friendly, the food... read more Our experience here was exactly what you imagine, but so rarely get, when you daydream about eating out in a nice restaurant. The service was friendly, the food and wine delicious, the atmosphere neat and relaxed. Even the ambient temperature (from wood burners, in mid-December) was perfect: not too hot and not too cold. We loved it so much that we booked to return the following evening and were disappointed when various things happened the next day to make this impossible. By the way, some reviewers mention it's hard to find, but we had no problem at all using Google Maps on a smartphone.
