I had the pleasure of dining at Quinta da Lama, a former olive oil mill that has been transformed into a delightful restaurant. The place exudes a cozy and rustic charm, with clay pots and vintage stone adorning the dining room. The menu offers a wide range of dishes, from traditional Portuguese cuisine to Mediterranean and European influences. I opted for the “posta à lagar”, a succulent tenderloin steak cooked in olive oil and garlic, and the cod with cornbread, a classic Portuguese dish that was moist and flavorful. Both dishes were exquisite and prepared with fresh and quality ingredients. The salads and bread were also very good. For dessert, I indulged in the “leite creme”, a creamy custard with a caramelized crust. It was heavenly, one of the best I ever had. I also enjoyed the house wine, a local red wine that complemented the food perfectly. The service was impeccable and attentive, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. I had a splendid time at Quinta da Lama and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying dining experience in Amarante.
