This charming little diner has a wonderful hometown feel. The mashed potatoes are absolutely incredible—I could keep eating them! For my visit, I dined in for lunch. The cost per person was between $10 and $20. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all at a perfect 5 stars. I highly recommend trying Max's Chicken Fried Steak!

Sit back and relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Old country momma's cooking. Hand dipped ice cream to indulge in. Family favorites everyone can enjoy. What better way to end a down home cooked meal than with a dish of pie and American favorite ice cream. Amust return favorite.
Fantastic place! The dinner salad was cold and crisp, with homemade croutons and dressing. Our meals were delicious well seasoned but not crazy salty. Fries were hot and crispy. Servers were attentive, and empty glasses were quickly refilled. Theperfectly crunchable pellet ice was great, too! It was lovely hearing locals greeting one another, and as I was checking outone of the servers was telling another about how one of the customers had made her the custom apron with pockets. If we're everback in Alva, we'll definitely be eating here.
