I absolutely loved this place! The cocktails were generous, and the Manhattan was outstanding. The food was also very good; I enjoyed the potato soup and a wedge salad along with steak. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend this restaurant! View all feedback.

Spicewood has a very nice ambiance with a nice bar area and great outdoor space with gas fireplace. Large sliding glass doors provide a beautiful view of the mountains and outdoor space from the main dining room. It was truly delicious! My husband ordered the chicken fried tenderloin and declared it one of the best meals he's ever enjoyed! It was extremely tender! I had the ribeye, which was also fantastic. On top of that, the bar is outstanding; both the prickly pear margarita and the blackberry habanero margarita were exquisite. We experienced great food and service, and we highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list of places to visit if you’re in Alpine or the surrounding area.
The restaurant wasn't open despite allowing me to make a reservation and confirming it. If you're going to be closed, please remove the reservation options. This was meant to be my birthday dinner with family, and we ended up going to Reata instead. I love Spicewood, but I'm really frustrated that we made plans, were looking forward to them, and then discovered that you were closed.
We were staying in Fort Davis and decided to drive to Alpine for dinner. Made reservations online. We got to Spicewood. Not a living soul was there. The place was closed. No indication of that on the website, open table or even the hours on the front door!!!! We ended up having a fabulous dinner at Riata (which I would highly recommend! They saved the evening!
