Gunnar's Pizza - Alpine
Gunnar's Pizza
Description
Gunnar’s is a rustic, old‑west eatery in Alpine celebrated for standout pizza, calzones and house‑made wing sauces, alongside a broad menu of sandwiches, pasta and burgers. Many praise the food, reasonable prices and unique chef creations—some even drive in from Jackson Hole for the wings—while service is generally friendly. However, experiences vary: there are reports of billing disputes, poor hygiene and inconsistent service, so expect excellent food but mixed reliability.
Feedback
Gunnar's offers a diverse menu that includes everything from pizza and subs to Italian pasta dishes, hamburgers, and specialty sandwiches. They feature several unique creations crafted by a master chef. Wing enthusiasts should pay attention: Gunnar's makes their own wing sauces from fresh ingredients, and some people travel over 100 miles just for their wings. The owners are truly wonderful, the service is great most of the time, and the ambiance has a charming old-west vibe.
If you come across a positive review for this restaurant, it's likely written by the owner themselves. This place is an absolute scam! While visiting the area with my family, we decided to stop in for a pizza. We ordered a large pizza, half Hawaiian and half pepperoni. When the bill arrived, we were shocked to discover we were charged $50 for two pizzas. The owner claimed this was because we ordered a pizza with the toppings of two pizzas. Unbelievable! I sincerely hope this establishment goes out of business.
I’m not the owner, but this place offers some amazing pizza! We've dined here several times while passing through Alpine, and both the pizza and the atmosphere are genuine and truly excellent.
The food at this restaurant is outstanding. They provide a diverse selection of pizzas, calzones, sandwiches, and wings. The staff is friendly, and the service is excellent.
During a recent road trip, we stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to stop for a bite to eat. Coming from Washington, DC, we were in the mood for some good pizza, and thankfully, we made the right choice! As someone from a big city, I can honestly say that this is among the best pizzas we've ever had. The prices were quite reasonable, and the service was satisfactory since we were just looking to eat and go. The locals are truly fortunate to have such a place nearby. During our two-week stay in Jackson Hole, we made the drive to Alpine four times just to enjoy their delicious calzones and pizza. Hey Gunnar's, we hope to see you again soon!
