While staying in Alpine for 4 days to visit the Big Bend Area. My husband was most excited for Cow Dog. He had been reading reviews and reading the menu all week...however one thing we never looked closely at were the hours... they were closed the day we got to town, and the only other day we might have had a chance they closed at 3 and it's almost 2 hours from Big bend, so unfortunately this time around it wasn't meant to be. 3 stars for the hours...
What can you say about Alpines Awesome Cowdog truck. It's a main staple , amazing dogs and owners, love this place. now has outside covered seating , smaller menu with new owners but great variety still. So happy they are here. We were looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch while in Alpine and wanted something truly local. We had the Hangover Dog and Chicago Dog. Both were awesome, the toasted bun and the dog itself was grilled and tasty, the chili, onions, Fritos, and cheesewere great!! The Chicago dog with pickles peppers onions and tomatoes was so full of flavor that I didn't want to share. Ifyou are in the area I would definitely stop on for a dog.
The Cow Dog is more than a good dog. It?s a terrific hotdog food truck with beef and veggie dogs and so many fixings to go with your selection of a small dog child's portion or a big dog an adult's portion. With the stop.
