Loom Bistro - Almonte

Excellent service and delicious food! We'll definitely be returning. If you're in Almonte, I highly recommend giving this fantastic bistro a try.

My partner and I had made a reservation for Valentine's Day at Loom Bistro, but we were asked to leave our seats because I couldn't provide a QR code. This was incredibly embarrassing and, sadly, beyond our control. It's disappointing that the government continues to overlook the needs of Indigenous people, and that many institutions fail to support us. We didn't get the chance to try the food, but I found the staff to be unhelpful. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend supporting this business. Thankfully, my partner and I were able to find another local restaurant where we were seated and treated well.

I checked online and was directed to text for a takeout order. I sent a text but got no reply. It wasn’t a big deal, so we ended up eating somewhere else. While staying at the inn where Loom is located, I thought it would be nice to order a little dessert to support a local business, especially since all the other reviews were great. However, when I called, I was told they couldn't do takeout tonight. Really? I found it hard to believe they couldn't package a couple of slices of pie or cake. That was quite disappointing.

Another fine dining experience. All the dishes our party ordered were timed perfectly. The layers of flavours were well thought out. Was so happy to get out and enjoy it during this pandemic.

The setting is very scenic (not to mention, historic) and the food is fabulous although portions are on the skimpy side. I ordered the fish tacos and was presented with 2 small tacos I could have easily eaten at least 3. Friendly staff. I would recommend trying this place but eat a little something beforehand.
