The river monster sandwich, featuring sweet peppers and au jus, is incredibly satisfying and will keep you coming back for more. Highly recommended!

The food was significantly overcooked, the cream for the coffee had curdled, and instead of real butter, they used vegetable oil spread on the baked potato. Additionally, the salt and pepper were served in small packets. I won't be coming back.

Our ser... read more During our visit to see family in the area, we chose to eat at the Riverview Restaurant Tavern in Algonquin, and we were very happy with our experience! Our server, Carol, was attentive and made sure we had an enjoyable time. We started with the Cream of Chicken and Rice soup, a fresh salad with homemade garlic dressing, a Barbecue Pizza, and a thin crust pizza topped with sausage, green olives, and hot giardiniera. The soups were delicious and evoked some wonderful memories, while the pizzas were flavorful and served piping hot from the oven. For dessert, we indulged in a delightful carrot cake that had a fresh taste and perfectly balanced cream cheese frosting. We ended up with plenty of leftovers to take home and are already looking forward to dining at the Riverview Restaurant Tavern again on our next visit to the area.

She double-checks everything to ensure it’s exactly as ordered, which makes it really easy to leave her a generous tip!
