Dunkin' - Algonquin
Dunkin'
Description
A neighborhood coffee-and-donut spot delivers warm highs and noticeable lows. When staffed well, the coffee is rich, donuts fresh, tables are clean and accessible, and service is friendly. Yet inconsistent management and understaffing lead to long drive‑thru waits, mobile‑order mixups, cold drinks, and order errors—sometimes met with little apology. Conveniently located with accessible parking and a traffic‑light entrance, the place is worth a visit for flavor and accessibility but be prepared for variable service.

I waited 15 minutes in the drive-thru with a mobile order. When I got to the window, the staff member informed me that my order would take a while and suggested I come inside. Once inside, I ended up waiting another 10 minutes. I brought up my mobile order again, only to discover that it had been sitting there the whole time. To make matters worse, 6 of the donuts I ordered were wrong, and my coffee was cold. There was no apology or explanation for the mix-up with the donuts.
I stopped by a local brewery before my trip to Michigan and had a cup of their coffee. It was rich and smooth, and unlike some famous coffee chains, it wasn't bitter or burnt. Although the line was long, the service was efficient and quick.
I ordered a dozen donuts, and the cashier was super friendly and even shared a laugh with me, which still brings a smile to my face! When I picked up my donuts the next day, the manager was very pleasant and professional, offering excellent service. I will definitely be back!
I ordered coffee with almond milk and specifically requested no whipped cream. I even repeated my order to confirm. However, when it arrived, it had whipped cream on it. I explained that I couldn't have whipped cream, and they just scooped it off. Afterward, I received what I believe was a new order, but the staff disappeared for a while. All that hassle, and the coffee turned out to be terrible. They really do not pay attention to their customers.
I'm not sure if new management took over, but the service here has declined drastically since the friendly Indian gentleman left. The lines are unbearably long, and it took me 25 minutes just to get through, which is completely unreasonable for a coffee shop. When I finally reached the window, the staff were rude, especially when I asked for a straw they had forgotten to include with my iced coffee. I live just across the street but will now drive to a different Dunkin' from now on.
