The food has consistently been good, with the exception of a time years ago when they had a Gringo chef—let's just say, it wasn’t ideal. The atmosphere captures the essence of a small Mexican border town, which we appreciate. We've dined at many more upscale Mexican restaurants, often at much higher prices, but this place is all about good food and a bit of authentic Mexican charm. If you’re looking for a casual meal, this is the place. If not, you may want to explore other options. Otherwise, we’ll see you at Buena Vista!

However, I decided to give it a try yes... read more I've lived in this area for over 12 years and have always overlooked this restaurant, for reasons I can't quite explain. However, I decided to give it a try yesterday, and I'm glad I did—it might just be one of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever visited! I ordered the vegetarian burrito, and it was absolutely delicious! My husband had the chicken chimichanga and raved about how fantastic it was. I think I've finally found my new go-to spot for Mexican food!

Let me restate that...it's the best salsa you will ever have. Period. We drive an hour just for their salsa. Made with roasted tomatoes it is to die for! Their other salsa is made fresh daily and contains just the right amount of spicy kick, with fresh ingredients. Nice view of the Fox River. It's not fancy but the food is excellent.
