Was WolfgangHeinrich at Katarsis a mag?
At least our dear and friendly headwaitress and sommeliere is a constant! The menu did not convince on first glance as I used to do in the past. Nevertheless, great food at great value for money even if some of the Mains are just very good and no longer excellent in all domains. Wishing best of success to the new team! View all feedback.

What twistersibo dislikes about Katarsis:
I was very exited to go once more to the Kartasis: we were greeted by the same very nice waitress and started studying the Menu. Slightly different but still ok that’s what we thought. But: the food was not nearly as good as it used to. We even let one starter go back which was no problem and my wide got something different) but usually all dishes were excellent and a positive surprise not anymore. The mains were ok... The mains were ok but only average nothing you would drive for 20 min to a restaurant next to the highway... Asking the waitress we found out that the menu is still „designed“ by Raul but there is a new owner and a new chef. The conclusion: now it is a mediocre resto somewhere on the island no special gem any longer so sad :

We had the 7 course option. We were apprehensive as we were not sure what we would get. We were more than pleasantly surprised. Every course was fabulous. The tastes the presentation were exceptional. If you visit Majorca this is a must. Highly recommend.

We chose the five course degustación each course was beautifully presented and tasty. Service was efficient and friendly. Prices are very reasonable too. Portions are generous

The location is a little awkward: the restaurant lies more or less on the motorway between Palma and Manacor about 4 km away from Algaida (actually it reminds me of the lady that use to have the restaurant next to a gas station on the highway by Lllucmajor). The interior is welcoming yet not really cosy. Also if there a not so many tables taken it seems a little big. I think the terrace in summer will be problematic: watching the cars go by with 100 km/h... Anyway let‘s talk about the most important thing: the food. And here we find a chef which certainly knows what to do. It lookes to us as if the team is very small but the different courses were all excellent. You can tell that the years with Marc Fosh made him a very professional and highly creative chef. Especially the starters were awesome: fried artichokes with foie and mussles in a safran sauce mmhh! (The bread is really great as well very french we missed to ask if they sell us some). At the moment I would say is one of the best kitchens on the island (and we try a lot). We went the night before to Adrian Quetglas and I must say that I the food was at the same level (not as decorated and stylish but quality and taste matched the Quetglas). Prices are surprisingly reasonable. The wine list could be a little more extensive and also offer some more elaborated wines the food deserves it! All in all a very positive experience and we will be back very soon!
