I posted this to the 'French Bakery ' business in Akaroa but I think they are called Sweet As Bakery and moved to a different location which is registered in google as a French Bakery. Anyway: The photos doesn 't do the meals any justice. We were in Akaroa on a sunday morning and nothing was open! We almost gave up but came across this french bakery and they were kind enough to let our dog sit in. I had the eggs benedict and partner had the crepes. They also have a big selection of French baked goodies and they were all so good. I had a big bag of takeaways and they are almost gone as I am writing this. Buttery pastry, flavours of macarons were blended nicely and the blueberry custard tart was heavenly! Coffee was also really well blended and crafted. The place really shows the French influence in Akaroa. Would love to come back soon! Also our dog enjoyed the pats from the servers! Thank you!
Not smart but just what I was after, a French inspired Kiwi cafe that knows bread and breakfast European style. Not that I could have any (bread, croissants et 'cos I 'm a coeliac, but could still appreciate its ambience and expertise. My coffee was good.
It is not France but they try hard. Good selection of pastries, croissant and sandwiches. Good for breakfast and to stock up for snacks to take on hikes or other outdoor activities. Staff friendly.
Very good place for lunch. The food is delicious. Chowder is amazing. Tables outside I think need new clothes.
