Good service, went there with with the family. They served the kids first which was amazing. I got the chicken Caesar salad and the wife got bourbon chicken and shrimp. Very happy with our meals. No View all feedback.
What Julie Salkeld dislikes about Applebee's:
The food did not meet my expectations. I ordered the four-cheese macaroni, which tasted like it was a day old, similar to Kraft dinner. The prices are excessively high for the quality of the food served. Additionally, the service was below average; I constantly had to flag down our server. However, after I posted my review, the manager reached out to me and sent a gift card! That was a great example of customer servi... View all feedback.
Came here today for my daughter's birthday, she really loves steak, and we decided to try this place. Big Mistake. Her steak was awful, which had to be returned. I ordered the chicken parm and the sauce was not edible whatsoever. I had to return that. I felt really bad. However, on a good side, the service was really great. They just need to either hire a new chef or make their food better.
Started going to this restaurant quite a few years ago. Back then it was acceptable, but each time my husband and I go back there's always something that's just not quite right and we tell ourselves that we won't be going back in a hurry, every year or so, i feel like we should give it another try, hoping the food has improved, but i'm usually wrong. Fell into the tap again today, we went to Fion McColl''s, but there was a sign on the door saying it was temporarily closed, so Applebee's was right across the street, so off we went like lambs to the slaughter, still hopeful. The food was worse than ever. Their hand dipped fish and chips wasn't at all fresh, it looked and tasted very much like it was premade/frozen. The substitution of ceasar salad instead of fries cost me extra and it was awful, i couldn't eat it and didn't get a refund either - very vinegary dressing, greens not fresh, croutons stale, bacon stale. Husband got a wrap, his fries were OK, but his wrap was far spicier than indicated on the menu. We decided to go for an old favourite so that it wasn't a complete bust, but the maple blondie supplier must have changed and instead of the blondie we used to get, it was now just a piece of lack lustre cake.So yes, i have learned my lesson, this place is never going to improve.
We've eaten here a couple of times, and although we generally like the food, the last time we were here was not up to the usual standards. I would not recommend the fish and chips, and the batter is very thick and almost no fish. The fries were good. The Garlic Cheese Bread for an appetizer was delicious. And the steak dinner was just okay, nothing too special there. We go to Applebee's for the reasonable prices, we don't expect anything fancy. They do put on a lovely homecooked type meal, so I recommend them on the whole.Just stay away from the fish and chips, this is the first time we found something we didn't really enjoy. We also ordered the molten lava cake for dessert, but it was overcooked, the centre was solid cake. Still delicious though.
