I had lunch or dinner there for 4 times now. I was wondering why it takes so long waiting to be served. The staff told me that their buns/dumplings are freshly made upstairs by order! The wife of the owner is a Shanghaiese, she made all of it! No wonder it is no fresh, so juicy, so Shanghai. Make sure you are not in a rush when you have a meal there. Then you will have the best food in the world. Worth waiting!
My mother and I were very curious about this place because of their big soup wontons, as they are very famous in Shanghai and a great Chinese dish to enjoy, we were very excited to hear that it was in Adelaide. We ordered a couple of other dishes to try as well. The giant soup wonton itself was mediocre and while we still enjoyed it nevertheless, it was a little more disappointing for me as I may have had high expectations for it. The wonton soup was just a huge disappointment. I can easily make a better dish at home myself if this is how they are going to serve their food. The soup broth was tasteless and the dumplings were served in pieces as it arrived making the bowl of what could have been a nice hot wonton soup very unappetizing. The pan friend dumplings were quite nice and it was probably my favourite dish we had that day. The staff who served us was not very friendly, inattentive and seemed to have an attitude where she couldn't be bothered with having us dine there. I don't think I will be coming back here unfortunately, unless they take the initiative to improve some things.
