Public CBD is a popular destination eatery with a great vibe and location, offering a variety of extravagant and interesting breakfast and lunch items. The food is a highlight, with impressive pastries and treats, as well as spectacular dishes like Eggs Benedict and Banana Bread French Toast. The spacious and airy setting, along with friendly staff, create a positive dining experience. However, some reviewers pointed out issues such as cold dishes, average food, and excessive wait times for meals. Was Anonym at PUBLIC a mag?
superb coffee, baked daily, good tight breakfast and lunch menu, this modern busy caffe offers a busy take-out clientele as well as sit-down options. centrally located by victoria square it is a convenient stop on the way to work or for. the passing tourist. service is excellent, friendly, professional and fast. What Anonym dislikes about PUBLIC:
I went to the counter and asked the barista if I was in order to get a table for one, and asked if it was table service. she said she was supposed to sit down and someone would come here to serve me. despite the personal passing my...table, no one looked at me in the direction that I showed that they were coming by. I sat and waited for 15 minutes without being offered a menu or water, so I literally went straight. View all feedback.

The nice space and fit out attracted me to this place when I passed by earlier in the morning. Experience itself was a bit patching. The service and staff were functional at best and my tea was a pot of hot water and a tea bag. I ordered a berry smoothie to start which was very nice. Generous serve and neither sweet nor tart. The hot cake for breakfast itself was spectacular looking and very tasty. Thick light and fluffy and covered in a variety of toppings it was so huge it defeated me! That’s a rare thing. Very impressive array of pastries and treats in the cabinet too which didn’t go unnoticed when placing my order. Food was highlight for my visit at Public so kudos to the kitchen.

I haven 't been to Public for quite some time but having previously enjoyed their breakfast offerings I decided it was time to return. I was not disappointed. Love the fact that there are a few 'not breakfasty ' options. I went with the confit salmon, kale and poached eggs dish. Delicious. Good coffee to go with it and professional staff made for a great start to the day. The size of the dishes may present an issue for hungrier patrons but I was satisfied afterwards.

Great food, great vibe, great location with good staff but failed in using the disabled toilet as a storeroom. epic fail  but something that should easily be fixed

Ordered a coffee which was ok. They had a lot of sweets and pastries on display. They also had what looked like Portuguese tarts on the counter. Disappointed as I asked what they were made of and no one could tell me. I’m very lactose intolerant and had no problems eating these all thru Portugal recently but I have heard of these having cream/butter in Australia so i always like to check. All the staff could tell me was that they are custard tarts and no matter how many times I said I needed to know if there was any dairy products, no one could tell me what was in them. As someone who also has a lot of allergies, like many many Australians, it’s essential for any cafe/restaurant to be aware of allergies and intolerances in general. Very disappointing to see that no one cared. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
