Mamachau has been part of the Adelaide food scene for awhile now. They're pretty famous for their Bao, so one lunch time, we thought we'd head on down to see what else they had to offer. The menu is quite large now, including rice bowls, salads, snacks and other specials which appear to rotate with the seasons.
I first discovered Mamachau’s baos at Fork On The Road and I’ve been in love ever since. There was always a long line up at their food stand so I was delighted when they opened up a permanent store in the CBD. Now I was able to get my bao fix anytime I wanted. Mamachau were the first to bring baos to Adelaide. I’ve been to a few places that make baos and never really liked them. Other places were always dense and stodgy. Mamachau make the best baos in Adelaide. They are the lightest, fluffiest, pillowy soft baos with various flavour combinations.
My favourite lunch place in the CBD! Reasonably priced and delicious. Especially love their Asian tacos lotus root chips <br/ <br/ But don't go there, because I want all the food for myself thanks
Never had a bad batch of Bao's, amazing every single time I want a treat for lunch. Can't help myself but get every flavour, they're all just too good to miss out on. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $20–40
Slightly obsessed with this place. The coconut poached chicken is super tender and the flavor is unlike anything I’ve ever had. The fresh rolls with the poached chicken and the green mango with the herbs Was able to try to silence both were flavorful and delicious and fresh. The beef salad was little salty but still super good and herby—and the coconut poached chicken salad was pretty wet so just be prepared, but I will still get them. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3
