Was Kerri Girvin at Le Souk a mag?
The shakshuka I had for breakfast was bursting with flavor. I’m not exactly sure which variety it was, but I was tempted by a vendor at the market who offered me a date (the fruit). We started chatting, and he made it sound really appealing; he asked if I liked spicy food and then instructed the chef to prepare it for me. I believe it was the version with spicy sausage, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The dish was rich... View all feedback.
What Jovan Jenkins dislikes about Le Souk:
I cannot get enough of this restaurant. The Menu is absolutely out of this world it 's so delicious. The staff are friendly and I always feel welcome. This is 'le bled '! Translation, it is home sweet home. The prices are not expensive at all contrary to some reviews I have read. A whole couscous huge plate of couscous costs just as much as a gourmet sandwich in Adelaide. The Couscous is a time consuming dish to prep... View all feedback.
This is not really a fair or complete review because we didn't stop for a meal, just some mint tea, some coffee and a couple of sweets after a round of shopping in the Market. BUT, the mint tea was excellent, the coffee very good and the sweets delicious. Best of all was the service. Friendly, helpful and they gave me a free date. Didn't try the food, but we saw it going past us and it looked very fine.
Amazing. The food was exotic, original and absolutely delicious, flavoursome and appealing. Atmosphere was cozy, quaint and African-themed, as matching the cuisine. Gave a genuine Service was good too! Food serves were generous and excellent value. 5 stars. Definitely coming back!
I tried out the restaurant on Gawler Place and absolutely loved it. Great for delicious slow-cooked couscous dishes and refreshing mint tea. It's food that's filling but won't leave you feeling bloated or as though you've eaten badly. The service is excellent and there are some tasty vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options for those inclined. It's a little on the pricy side, but for the quality of the food and the service, it's well worth it. If you're happy spending a minimum of $40 for dinner, try out Le Souk. You won't be disappointed! Oh, and definitely try the Lamb Tagine, which has been slow-cooked for six to seven hours. It's incredible!
Visit Date: Tuesday 10 June, ~10:05am If you're looking for a warm and hearty meal at the Adelaide Central Markets, then look no further than Le Souk, serving a variety of Algerian cuisine Having won awards at the Adelaide Royal Show and ranked a 2020 TripAdvisor's Traveller's Choice Winner i.e. ranked in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide , I see why Le Souk deserves its awards There is seating at the table booths and external seating around Le Souk. The first time I passed Le Souk, Azou the owner asked me if I would like to date him, which weirded me as I initially thought he was a random passerby , but in his hand was a bowl full of fruit dates and tongs in his other hand. He gave me a fruit date. Turns out that he approaches customers too, with his date puns. I think it's an effective way to attract customers, because that will be my most memorable part of Le Souk, and Azou is friendly too. The date was really sweet and nice. I returned to Le Souk after walking around the entire market, for brunch not because of the dates , where I was greeted warmly by the lady cooking the paellas and Azou. I ordered a large chicken paella for $18.70 $18.50 $0.20 card surcharge , which was immediately served hot in a large plastic bowl The first bite was amazing. The flavours blended well. The chicken and rice was soft. The portion was huge. Azou offered me another fruit date, which paired well with the paella. Overall, the meal was incredibly satisfying and evoked a homeliness feeling I highly recommend eating at Le Souk to anyone who goes to the Adelaide Central Markets; it was my most favourite meal in Adelaide. Be prepared, for Azou has many date puns up his sleeve Thank you Le Souk for a delicious paella and good dining experience Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $1–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Friendly and hospitable staff! While alot of their menu items may be a bit over-budget for me, I do always go for their paella and lentil soups- They never disappoint. I usually order them with extra harissa which I find very addictive. I do wish they would deliver their plated dishes to the outer tables rather than the customer carrying them. Nonetheless, I still recommend to experience this joint in the markets %100. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
